Mrs. Geradine Secondis (She/Her), PR & Communication representative of STEM RACING Mauritius, emphasized the need for greater female representation in motorsports. She strongly advocated for diversity and inclusion, recognizing that empowering women in the field is crucial for long-term progress.

Furthermore, the Honourable Minister was informed of the support of a distinguished figure in motorsports, Mrs. Frédérique Trouver-Doger, who has dedicated over two decades to prestigious institutions like the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile (FIA). Her involvement will be instrumental in increasing female participation in motorsports and fostering a more inclusive environment.

The Honourable Dr. Mahend Gungapersad, Minister of Education and Human Resources, commended the dedication and vision behind this initiative. He congratulated the STEM RACING Mauritius team for their commitment to bringing this innovative program to Mauritius.

This collaboration extends beyond students—it will also empower teachers. The first phase of implementation will focus on training facilitators in schools, equipping them with the necessary skills to guide and mentor students. STEM RACING Mauritius will develop a structured timeline and roadmap to ensure the program’s successful execution.

This landmark meeting marks a significant step forward in redefining education in Mauritius. With strong governmental backing and the innovative leadership of STEM RACING Mauritius, the initiative is poised to inspire and empower both students and educators. The success of this initiative will be further strengthened by the support of key partners, including the U.S. Embassy, Rajiv Gandhi Science Centre, and other valued collaborators.

The Minister expressed great enthusiasm upon learning that this initiative, spearheaded by Mr. François Mark, promotes Mauritian identity and national pride.

Looking ahead, the Minister also welcomed the proposal to establish regional and national STEM racing finals, allowing schools from different regions to compete in an Inter-College STEM Challenge. This vision sets the stage for a future where STEM education and motorsports come together to create a dynamic and competitive learning environment for students across the island.

Together, we are driving education forward—towards an inclusive, exciting, and opportunity-rich future for all.
